Consumer Healthcare Business Leader

We are now looking for a Consumer Healthcare Business Leader to strategically and operationally lead the development of this market sector for CDP.

We work with our global Consumer Healthcare clients to help them identify strategic innovation opportunities and develop winning products. Projects often start with the earliest stakeholder research and business strategy, and continue through detailed product development, to market launch.

This is an opportunity for you to build on CDP’s existing Consumer Healthcare business and create new relationships that enable our clients to achieve their full potential. You will lead a dedicated Consumer Healthcare innovation business stream whilst working closely with our other Business Development, leadership and experienced expert project teams. You will maintain ultimate responsibility for the client relationships and commercial success of Consumer Healthcare projects which often include product, packaging and devices. You will also contribute to strategic Consumer Healthcare marketing, sales collateral, thought leadership and team recruitment.

Job Specification:

  • Lead CDP’s Consumer Healthcare business including both existing client relationships and projects as well as responsibility for winning new clients aiming at the £M+ range.
  • Approach prospects and attend meetings to support ongoing relationships and projects, qualify new opportunities from your existing network and build new client relationships (e.g. conferences, networking, etc.)
  • Use established methodology in strategic marketing, lead generation and qualification, proposal writing, and sales.
  • Collaborate with technical colleagues throughout the sales process to create a balanced team which is aligned to the sales opportunity.
  • Write blogs and prepare marketing collateral.
  • Able to balance the demands of client relationship management, business development and leading project delivery teams as appropriate.

Person Specification:

 An experienced new product development, marketing or business leader, with a track record of high-value, global, Consumer Healthcare innovation.

  • A demonstrable track record of initiating contacts, finding projects, negotiating T&C’s and closing sales whilst managing relationships in the £m+ range.
  • Individual with the strategic vision and motivation to open doors and generate new business.
  • 1st or 2:1 degree in Engineering or Science
  • 10+ years’ experience working with multinational, branded Consumer Healthcare companies.
  • Experienced in a relevant sales role with a background in technical project leadership.
  • Commercially aware with persuasive communication skills and a confident negotiator
  • A willingness to travel internationally.
  • A self-starter with strong networking skills.
  • A positive and flexible temperament: happy to work both as part of a team, and independently.
