All too often the devices that we have come to rely on do not work as intended - phone applications crash, web sites fail to load or routers need rebooting. Conversely automotive, healthcare, nuclear and other manufacturers use software in safety critical applications where functional and safe operation can quite literally be the difference between life and death. Representatives from Ultra Electronics, VectorCAST and Pen Test Partners will speak along with Colin Walls, Mentor Graphics.
The Software/Open Source SIG is championed by John Bechtel of Badger Pass, David Berry of PTC, Phillip Burr of ARM and David Roberts of Jabooh Software Solutions.
So how can software developers of ‘everyday’ things learn from safety critical applications while remaining nimble and without significantly increasing software development costs? What lessons can be learned? This event will bring speakers from industries where 95% reliability isn’t nearly good enough, and provide ideas that can be used in the development of all systems.
