Business SIG event - 'Innovation? Business models rule'

Start date/time :  13:00 22nd September 2016
End date/time :  17:00 22nd September 2016
Venue :  Digital Catapult, 101 Euston Road, London, NW1 2RA

Cab drivers were up in arms when Uber arrived on our shores, AirBnB received a similar hostile reception from the established hospitality trade. This is remarkable in the sense that these new businesses were absolutely disruptive but the technology they use is not. Does technology still play a key role in creating innovative business or is it more important to look at the innovation in business models first and then, well, simply go 'shopping' for the technology to enable it? This event is hosted by Digital Catapult as part of their ColLab Festival and business speakers will include Zeev Fisher of Pekama, David Bushby of Lexoo, Amanda Nunn of Money Mover, Leo Poll of Akendi and Professor Alan Brown of Surrey Business School.

In fact, cab drivers could have embraced the same technology to counter the Uber threat rather quickly, combining a trusted brand with the convenience of easy booking and paying. And this is where innovation seems to be going. In an ever connected world business innovation rather than technology innovation disrupts and makes the difference. The CW Business SIG will explore this in, what promises to be a lively afternoon so join us for the discussion with keynote speakers and a lively panel session. Speakers include:

The Business SIG is championed by Clennell Collingwood of TTP, Soraya Jones of The KTN and CW, Amanda Nunn of Money Mover and Leo Poll of Akendi UK.
